Disability Program Navigator: Resources; A) 30 Second Trainings : Asset Development
As part of ongoing technical assistance activities, NDI Consulting Inc, the national training and technical assistance provider to the Disability Program Navigator (DPN) Initiative, hosted a webinar to share the newly developed “Employer 30-Second Training Series” and “Employer Resource Guide”. Navigators were encouraged to invite representatives from their Business Services Teams, business liaisons from their local Vocational Rehabilitation offices, and other workforce partners who work with the employer community to join them in participating in this webinar. The resources that were shared were developed to be used by those with an employer focus and were designed to educate employers, hiring managers and supervisors about proven strategies and easy-to-use resources that can assist in retaining and accommodating existing employees who experience the onset of a disability. These tools (e.g. 30-Second Trainings & Resource Guide) provide valuable information and sources of support to employers in hiring qualified employees who experience a disability, including strategies and resources that can assist in effectively accommodating all employees in achieving their maximum potential and productivity level.
