Disability Program Navigator: Training ; 2009: Maturity Model Matrices 2 Part Series
NDI Consulting Inc, the national training and technical assistance provider to the Disability Program Navigator Initiative, hosted a two part webinar series on January 14th and February 25th on the overview and application of the DPN Maturity Model Matrices (M3); developed and presented by Colorado WIN Partners/University of Colorado at Denver. This training webinar provided the following:
- History of the DPN Initiative and Maturity Model
- Overview of the intent behind the Maturity Model
- Review of both the State and Local Models
- Explanation of how to use the Inventories
- Discussion of how to interpret results
- Review of the purpose of the Inventories
- Overview of the State and Local Maturity Model Inventories
- Review the goal(s) of the Maturity Model Inventories
- Review who completes the Inventories
- Highlight the variability in state and local profiles and answers
- Demonstrate how the focus area can be broken down further among each variable
- Highlight the color coded bands for the phases
- Highlight how the profiles assist with strategic planning

Our Presenter
Judith Emery and Nancy Koester
Judith Emery and Nancy Koester are with Colorado WIN
Partners, which is at the University of Colorado at Denver. Colorado WIN
Partners represents a collection of initiatives to expand employment and community opportunities for individuals with disabilities through innovation and collaboration. It is this group that contributed to the overall evaluation design interviews, analysis, and writing and production of the Maturity Model concept and matrices.
Judith Emery, M.A., is the Director for “Colorado WIN
Partners. She has been contracted by Colorado’s Workforce Development Council to provide technical assistance and training and to support the implementation of the Colorado DPN
project, which is a Round 1 project. She has also played an instrumental role at the national level in the design and implementation of the DPN
Initiative.
Ms. Emery has been a leader in the field of disability for over 25
years. She is recognized nationally and within Colorado in the areas of systems change and collaboration, community integrated and supported employment, transition from school to work, strategic planning and organizational development.
Nancy Koester, M.S., is a Research Instructor for Colorado WIN
Partners in the Department of Pediatrics. She provides community-based program evaluation consultation, and design and implementation for Colorado WIN
Partners. Ms. Koester has been developing and evaluating community based programs for more than 14
years.
